Ensofic Reiki
Allow your body to relax and rest while you receive an infusion of pure energy to relieve stress, enhance your recovery from medical procedures or simply to balance your life and get a fresh perspective.
Reiki first came into my life right after my son was scheduled to have open heart surgery at 9 months old. I was fortunate to have a friend who practiced Reiki and who also knew a nurse who was a Reiki practitioner. At the time, Dr. del Nido was the head of cardiology at Children's Hospital in Boston, and he graciously agreed to have this nurse participate in his operating room for my son's open heart surgery. I was already working at Mass General in the outpatient psychiatry department, and I was also aware that many nurses were using Reiki to support cancer patients recovering from chemotherapy and surgeries. For this reason, I agreed to have this nurse participate in the operating room for my son's open heart surgery. What I experienced when my son woke up from his surgery, as he smiled and sat up, was miraculous to me. He was joyful and relaxed despite the 4-hour surgery he had just had. I was trained to offer Reiki and continued to offer it over the years. Later, I became certified to offer Ensofic Reiki and have witnessed how it supports people in their healing and recovery journeys.
I have also had the pleasure of offering Reiki to many animals who are open and love the feeling of being held gently in that energy and comfort. My own animals have benefited from pre and post surgical Reiki which they voluntarily sought while in recovery.

Ensofic reiki for animals
Animals can be remarkably receptive to Reiki. Because the practice is gentle and non-invasive, it can be offered without asking an animal to do anything other than rest, settle, and receive in whatever way feels comfortable to them.
We offer Reiki to animals who are sick, recovering from surgery, or have undergone a medical procedure or other stressful intervention. Reiki may help create a sense of calm and ease during these vulnerable times, supporting relaxation, comfort, and the body’s natural healing process alongside appropriate veterinary care.
My relationship with animals is very much a part of my own life. I share my home with two miniature donkeys, a dog, three cats, ducks, and geese, and have experienced firsthand the sensitivity and openness animals can bring to this kind of energetic support.
A Reiki session can be offered before a procedure to help an animal settle, during the recovery period, or whenever they seem to need additional comfort and care. The animal is always allowed to guide the experience—choosing how close they wish to be, whether they want direct contact, and when they have had enough. Reiki is another way of tending to our animals with presence, respect, and compassion during times when they may need a little more support.

What You May Notice
No two people integrate the same way. Still, these are the shifts clients describe most often in the weeks that follow:
-
After a Reiki session, people often describe feeling deeply relaxed, peaceful, grounded, or renewed. Some experience a sense of lightness, emotional release, greater clarity, or a deeper connection with themselves. Others may feel tired and drawn toward rest as they continue to integrate the experience.
-
Each person’s response is unique. Reiki may be experienced subtly or profoundly, and its effects may be noticed immediately or unfold gently over time.
